Operation Round Up

All active accounts of McLean Electric Cooperative have been "Opted-In" for participation in Operation Round Up.  Operation Round up is a program funded by and from the McLean Electric Cooperatives Members who voluntarily "round up" their monthly electric bills to the next dollar.  Those living within the boundaries of the MEC service territory are eligible recipients of the funds generated from the program.  The funds go to worthy projects in our service area that are either not funded or under-funded. If you wish to "Opt-Out" of the program please email us with your name, address and which account(s) you wish to be included to: mclean@mcleanelectric.com. You can also call 701-463-2291 or stop by the office and let us know you do not wish to participate in this wonderful program.

MEC Services to Close

For the Past 16 years, MEC Services offered electrical work, plumbing services, and HVAC installation and support.  Effective January 20th the for-profit subsidiary of McLean Electric, ceased operation.  The company had not been showing a profit, and a business decision was made to close the subsidiary.   Some of the employees have decided to go into business for themselves.

Steve Zacharias and Wayne Johnson became business partners in an independent plumbing business they can be reached at 701-460-7471 (Steve) and 701-460-7472 (Wayne).  Lance Venstad is also opening his own HVAC business, Venstad Heating and Cooling will be based out of Max.  His business phone is not currently available.  The electrical employees have not all decided which path they will take, however John Wilcox said he will continue to provide electrical services in the area.

We wish all of them the very best in owning and operating their own business.
