Irrigation
McLean Electric Cooperative offers an irrigation rate to farm and other members for irrigation, drainage or other pumping or uses essential to pumping operations. The season for the irrigation rate runs from April 30 to October 1. Participation in the irrigation program requires an agreement to be signed by the irrigator. Rate information
Annual charge
$12/highest KW of the previous season, or $9.00 per horsepower, whichever is greater, paid in advance of season.
In the event that zero usage is recorded for the season, the annual charge will be refunded less the current annual customer charge as stated in Rate Class 50, ($27.00 per month X 12 = $324.00)
Demand charge
$11/KW per month
Energy charge
All KWH at 4.9¢
Off Peak rate
- Special off peak rate of .049 per/KWH is available.
- $0 per KW/per month if Off-Peak
- $11.00 per KW/per month if On-Peak
Determination of horsepower
The horsepower for billing purposes shall be the manufacturers name plate rating of horsepower output, except if the Cooperative so elects, it shall be determined by actual measurements of power input during a period of maximum normal use, less an allowance of ten percent (10%) of input for motor losses. In case of two or more motors, nameplate horsepower ratings will be directly added for energy and maintenance billing purposes.
