Electric Heat
There are many different types of electric heat that can be used on our service. These include baseboards, cove heat, wall units, unit Heaters, boilers, and electric furnaces.

Stipulations
- McLean Electric will only sub meter 240 V electrical heating circuits. These circuits will not be controlled by the Cooperative.
- To qualify for the electric heat rate, the member will need to purchase a sub-meter socket and CT from the McLean Electric. The cost of those items is $78.23 plus tax.
- All electric heat energy on the sub meter will qualify for the heating rate of 4.6¢ per/KWH. A fee of $3/month per sub meter and the installation of sub meter is the responsibility of the member.
- This is a non-controllable heat rate, which means McLean Electric will not turn off the electric heat at any time.
- Electric Use Assistance: Contact the office for information and help for your electrical needs.
- All installations will be inspected by co-op personnel. Any corrections needed will be made at the customer's expense. Entire service panels are not allowed to be CT'ed - only individual heat circuits.
- The Electric Heat Rate of 4.6¢ is only available from October 1st through April 30th. During the summer months any electric heat usage will be billed at the regular 9¢ rate.
Loans and Rebates
- Up to $5,000 loan for five years at 5% interest for all conversions to electric heat.
- A one time rebate is available for homes, up to $350. Electric heat must be 240 V and an inspection will be required if a sub meter is installed. If heating equipment is not bought from McLean Electric, we will require a receipt before the rebate can be issued. Rebates for sub metered accounts will also be issued after an inspection is complete. The amount of the rebate cannot exceed cost of item.
- A one time rebate of up to $150 is available for shops/or garages. A receipt is required for proof of purchase. The amount of the rebate cannot exceed cost of item.
